Privacy policy

Naturotechnica ("we", "us") provides field monitoring and decision support for farms and land at naturotechnica.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@naturotechnica.com.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, farm name and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
• Field data you add: field outlines drawn on the map, crop, planting date, whether a field is irrigated, irrigation you log, harvested yield, and your settings such as units.
• Data we compute for your fields: weather, soil, satellite and model results for your field locations, and a record of the calls we showed you, kept to measure our accuracy.
• Usage data: basic page-view analytics provided by our hosting provider (such as pages visited, referring site and device type), and technical logs needed to run and secure the service.

We use cookies only to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

How we use it

• To create and secure your account and sign you in.
• To produce irrigation, disease-risk and yield information for your fields.
• To send you service emails, such as confirming your email address, resetting your password, and a welcome message.
• To measure and improve the accuracy of our models, including by comparing past calls with what actually happened.
• To respond when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal data or your field data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Google user data

If you use "Continue with Google", we use the basic profile information Google shares (name, email address, profile picture) only to create your account and sign you in. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google data. Naturotechnica's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run Naturotechnica. They process data only to provide their service to us:

• Supabase: database and sign-in.
• Our hosting provider (Bay): runs the website and provides basic page analytics.
• Google: "Continue with Google" sign-in, and Google Workspace for our email.
• Map and data services, which receive a field's location or outline (not your name or email) to return information about it: MapTiler (map imagery), OpenStreetMap Nominatim (place search), Open-Meteo (weather), Iowa Environmental Mesonet / NOAA (measured rain), NASA POWER and NASA Earthdata (weather history and Landsat imagery), USDA Soil Data Access and USDA NASS (soil and yield records), the FCC Census API (county lookup), Microsoft Planetary Computer and the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (satellite imagery).

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and field data while your account is open. When you delete your account, your account, fields and related data are deleted from our database. Backups and logs held by our providers are removed on their normal schedules.

Your choices and rights

• Access and correct: view and edit your profile, farm and fields in the app.
• Delete: delete your account at any time in Settings → Profile & account, or email us.
• Questions or requests: email hello@naturotechnica.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example under the GDPR or US state privacy laws), and we will honour them.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to each farm's data is restricted to that farm's members by database security rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you of a breach where the law requires.

Children

Naturotechnica is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know by email or in the app.
